Chessie

Chessie

NO CHECK-IN NECESSARY. PRIVATE ENTRANCE.

The Chessie Room is part of the old Baltimore and Ohio train station, now called Heritage Station. It is located on the second floor of the old Huntington Bank building, allegedly robbed by the Jesse James gang in 1875. Fact or fiction its our story and we are sticking to it. Click here to read about the bank robbery. Read a little more about "recent" history here: Chessie Room Circa 1920, and General John Hunt Oley.

At Heritage Station you are steps away from a bakery, tap room, sip bar and boutique shops. Within three blocks of The Chessie Room are multiple restaurants, the historic Keith Albee Theater, the Big Sandy Arena, Pullman Square, Marshall UniversityFine Arts Center, and movie theaters, in other words the heart of downtown.

With the help of our friends we have created a suite where we would like to spend time ourselves. Maybe you would too.

Business, pleasure, or stacation, The Chessie Room offers something a little special. Come on by.

Guest Comment: "What a superb place to stay while in Huntington!! So warm, inviting and, cozy, and ideally located! Perfect location for both doing a bit of work and relaxing...and we enjoyed the shops ... Stephen was such a wonderful host, met us upon our arrival and provided everything we needed. We love the Chessie Room and hope to stay again!! "Nancy and David, San Francisco. 12/29/2019"

PS:The sound track you heard earlier was of an actual Chessie passenger steam locomotive called the 1948 Greenbrier 4-8-4 No. 614. It was the last commercially built steam locomotive built in America. The sound track was recorded when passing Southbound through Mahwah, NJ while pulling 24 passenger cars on a Hoboken, NJ to Jervis, NY excursion, which ran from 1996-1998.
